Contrasts several control modes in primary variable chilled water flow systems. Points out that the differential temperature control mode is suitable for the air conditioning systems where no control valve is installed and individual demand is not strict, otherwise, the differential pressure control should be employed. Offers the formula for estimating energy saving rate in the differential pressure control mode and points out that the difference of energysaving rate between the differential pressure control mode and the differential temperature control mode is relative to the ratio of the set differential pressure to the design pump head.
